Competencies and Requirements: Works directly with Director of Clinical Services to maintain up to date clinical policies and procedures; Must possess a current MA RN License and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an elder/geriatric long term care setting as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing; Must be an excellent leader and role model to all; Possess a positive, caring, proactive, results oriented approach; Must develop, adhere to and support policies and procedures; Must possess in depth knowledge of regulations pertaining to long term care (OBRA, OSHA, State and Federal regulations, etc.) and how they apply to residents, patients, families, staff and the facility; Will be responsible for the development of objectives and standards of nursing practices and procedures, and overall compassionate leadership for all levels of nursing staff. Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating department and resident care policies, procedures and practices to accomplish activities and functions through effective training, mentoring, creative utilization, development of staff and follow up; Experience coordinating and managing activities of all nursing and clinical department to establish effective staffing relationships and to ensure optimum efficiency, effectiveness and economy; Experience administering departmental budgets; Other related duties as needed or assigned.
